LEaping in Lore.
While traveling, I noticed something strange: there are so many places across the US that have a cliff called “Lover’s Leap”.
They tell the same story (usually a Native woman forced into marriage who leaps to her death for love.)
That got me wondering….
How many of these places are there?
Where did these stories come from?
Are they real, myths, or is something else going on?
This project maps every “Leap” location in America and investigates the stories attached to them.
